TOM BURNS is a music composer, multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer, based in Manhattan.  His formal music education began with composer and percussionist Jack Winters, a veteran of the New York City avant-garde music scene.  He continued his studies in classical music performance under Ray DesRoches, premier percussionist for the groundbreaking 20th Century composer, John Cage.

Tom trained as an audio engineer at the Manhattan studio of dance music pioneer, François Kevorkian.  His professionalism and his musical sensitivity led to regular sessions with Elektra Entertainment Group and Atlantic Records.

In 2002, Tom scored his first feature film, Alan Rowe Kelly’s cult hit I’LL BURY YOU TOMORROW. His haunting original score earned him the Silver Medal of Excellence at the 2004 Film & Music Festival in Park City, Utah.

Since the launch of his own audio post company REALLY HORRIBLE MUSIC in 2000, Tom's scoring, dialogue editing, sound design, ADR, Foley and re-recording mixing talent has been employed by law firms, art galleries, major universities and award-winning independent horror films.
